The Pale Horse by Agatha Christie | Book Review #1

When it comes to crime thrillers & mystery novels British author Agatha Christie can't be overlooked, one of her masterpieces 'The Pale Horse' is amazingly crafted with eerie presence and twist after the twist ending, begins with the main character Mark Easterbrook mysterious list of unknown names on it and surprising deaths of the people on the list. Mark is desperate to find the connection and cause of these deaths, if something could be done to stop for the remaining names on the list, a lot of characters are played to make this unusually significant dash of body horror and unfolds with another mystery to be resolved.

Mark is portrayed as someone who took writing as a tool to do the investigation, as in this interesting case he is more involved than the police holding up pieces together along with police officer Corrigan, another one on the list with an interrogative question followed. Only acquaintance apart from Corrigan ia Mrs. Delafontaine and again with a question mark followed. A great read overall and deserved to be adapted in form of BBC series with the same name which primarily aired in the UK.

Though this Sarah Phelps fifth adaption of Christie's work received praise for writing and direction from The Guardian and an approval rating of 80% from critics with an average of 6.7/10, some readers found the adaptation to be loose and not good with the changes made by Phelps, also the ambiguous ending made it look lame.
